So its all been a bit quiet of late on here. Unfortunately due to work commitments I have been unable to fish at all since my last session on the Thames tributary. Most annoying because at times conditions have looked really good for a late Autumn barbel.
However the good news is that I have the opportunity to go fishing for 4 days next week and we have decided that after taking the weather forecast into consideration, that we will be heading to the upper Wye valley. The river level looks good and hardly any rain is forecast between now and next Friday. Hopefully, if that’s correct and stays that way, we should have ideal conditions for some grayling fishing.
I’ll also be packing a light Avon rod so that I can do some leger/feeder fishing for some of the big chub that inhabit these upper reaches. Of course what I’m really hoping for is a few big grayling and I’d dearly love to top my current PB of 2lb 11oz but best not get ahead of myself I suppose.
Anyway its a stunning place and I’m really looking forward to this somewhat unexpected visit.
Good luck Fella. Enjoy! :o)

Thanks Richard. Very frustrating, this not being able to get out. Still hopefully next week will make up for it.
